Walker & Sharpe is one of Dumfries and Galloway’s longest-established full-service law firms, with a proud history dating back to 1847. We are currently recruiting a family law solicitor to join our busy private client team in Dumfries.

This vacancy is open to solicitors at all stages of their post-qualification career. Whether you are recently admitted and looking to build your practice, or an experienced family law solicitor ready for a new opportunity, we would be delighted to hear from you.

The Role

As a family law solicitor at Walker & Sharpe, you will manage a varied caseload covering separation and divorce, financial provision, contact and residence disputes, and cohabitation claims. Working within a full-service firm means there are also opportunities to broaden your practice across other civil areas, depending on your experience and interests.

What We’re Looking For

• Admitted to practise in Scotland (or shortly to be admitted)
• Experience in family law, or a clear commitment to developing in this area
• Strong client care skills and a practical, people-first approach
• Confidence managing your own caseload
• A collaborative team player who enjoys a busy working environment
